He is currently faculty at Nepal Open University (NOU) and visiting Professor at Manmohan Memorial Institute of Health Science. Prior to this position he worked in several position at Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences KU. Prof Marahatta is visiting professor of Bournemouth University UK and University of California Davis USA. He has published 92 original and review articles in national and international journals. He also served as a Member of Health Policy drafting committee, the member of higher level education commission and the member of Incident Command System (ICS) to address the COVID 19 pandemic. His research interests are in areas of infectious disease epidemiology, global health, health system research and medical education.
