Dr. Yonca Bulut is the Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She attended medical school at the University of Ankara, Turkey, completed her pediatric residency at the Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron, Ohio, and fellowship in pediatric critical care at the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. Prior to joining the PCCM division at UCLA, Dr. Bulut was a faculty member at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, later she served as the Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center. Dr. Bulut’s research interests include the role of iron and the iron-regulatory hormone Hepcidin in bacterial infections. Her translational work focused on the utilization of Hepcidin as a biomarker and a therapeutic agent. Her research accomplishments have been recognized by national and private institutions, including the National Institutes of Health, the Today’s and Tomorrow's Children's Fund and the Oppenheimer Foundation. Dr. Bulut’s work on iron metabolism in infection has been published in several prestigious scientific journals, including Blood, Cell Host and Microbe, Journal of Immunology, Infection and Immunity. Dr. Bulut’s clinical interests include Anemia and Iron Deficiency, Transfusion practices in ICU settings, Pediatric Acute Liver Failure and Disaster Management and Emergency Preparedness. Dr. Bulut is one of the Educators for Excellence faculty at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She is the recipient of the UCLA Pediatric Residency Faculty Teaching Honor Roll for Academic Year 2022-2023 and Robert C. Neerhout Faculty Award for Academic Year 2020-2021 in appreciation for excellence in teaching. Dr. Bulut is the PICU elective chair for the 4th year medical students at The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA since 2014.

Dr Sujan Babu Marahatta is currently the Professor of Public Health at Nepal Open University (NOU).He is the Chair of Subject Committee of Masters of Sciences in Environment and Occupational health Course. He is also the program led of Master of Public Health course at MMIHS. Dr Marahatta is playing led role to develop international links with universities and institutions to strengthen research and teaching profile of NOU.He is also visiting faculty at Liverpool John Moores University UK. He has received postdoctoral research grants from WHO-TDR and research grants from different agencies.He has published 67 original and review articles in peer reviewed journal and one book chapter.

The University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) is pleased to announce Brian Uridge as the new Michigan Medicine security director. “Brian has more than 28 years of experience and leadership in healthcare security services and law enforcement, which makes him uniquely qualified for this role,” said Eddie Washington, Jr., DPSS executive director. Uridge served for three years as the director of Security Services at Spectrum Health, where he was responsible for more than 200 safety and security professionals. While at Spectrum, he implemented the first four-member security police explosive K-9 unit, who were cross-trained in pet therapy, as well as the first ever Taser and firearm programs. He also was instrumental in the development of a clinical safety program, which used police-based scenario to train more than 3,500 nurses in one year.

Stef Stienstra is a strategic and creative Consultant in Biomedical Science with a parallel career as a Commander of the Reserve of the Royal Dutch Navy. For the Dutch Armed Forces he has responsibility for the counter measures in CBNRe threats and (medical) consequence management both in a military and a civilian (terrorism) setting. In his civil career he works internationally as a Consultant or as Scientific Supervisory Board Member for several medical and biotech companies, merely involved in biodefense. He is also a Visiting Professor for Punjab University in Pakistan and Rhein-Waal University in Germany. He has completed his studies in Medicine and in Biochemistry at the University of Groningen in Netherlands and has extensive practical experience in cell biology, immuno-hematology, biodefense and transfusion medicine.

Peter A. Averkiou, M.D., F.A.A.P., is a board certified pediatrician, who was in private practice for 20 years in Boca Raton, Florida. In 2012, he joined the faculty of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University as an Assistant Professor of Integrated Medical Science. Dr. Averkiou is the Co-Director of M1 and M2 Clinical Education. He is also the Director of the Newborn Nursery Clinical Rotation and the Director of the Service Learning Projects. Dr. Averkiou serves as a Learning Community/Portfolio Advisor. He is also on the Interprofessional Education Development Sessions Committee and the YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program Advisory Board. Dr. Averkiou is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. His goal is to train the medical students to be excellent clinicians and compassionate doctors.

Dr. Cheepsattayakorn graduated Doctor of Medicine from Chiang Mai Medical School, Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand in 1986. He then further had trained in Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, and Radiology at Chiang Mai University Medical School. Recently, on October 26, 2019, he was bestowed the Gold Medal Award (First-Class Award) from the Chiang Mai University Medical School Alumni Association in Chiang Mai, Thailand for his academic and medical practice excellence for cerebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Chiang Mai University Medical School, Chiang Mai, Thailand that was established on October 28, 1959. He graduated numerous Fellowships from the Royal Colleges of Physicians of Edinburgh, London and Thailand, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, American College of Physicians, and American College of Chest Physicians. Presently, he serves both Editor and Editorial Board Member, referee of several international journals, and several international conference organizing committees. He has very high experience in the fields of Pulmonary Diseases and Tuberculosis including Infectious Diseases and Immunology. He has numerous scientific publications, more than330 publications both in national and international journals and books, including authored textbook of COVID-19, “ Thailand’s and Global Perspectives of COVID-19 ”, both the United Kingdom version (361 pages, first edition published by the Medical and Research Publications in 2021) and the United States of America version (367 pages, second edition published by the Science and Education Publishing in 2022).Recently, in 2022, he published a Book Chapter, entitled “ COVID-19 and Respiratory System ” in a Textbook, entitled “ Chest Medicine in Perspective ” published by Thammasat Printing House, Bangkok, Thailand (736 pages). He had been served a Director and Consultant in Respiratory Medicine of the 10th Zonal Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases Center, Chiang Mai, Thailand for a long time, a Director of the 5th Office of Disease Prevention and Control and Consultant in Respiratory Medicine, Ratchaburi, Thailand and presently serves as Consultant in Respiratory Medicine (Pulmonologist) at the 10th Zonal Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases Center, Chiang Mai, Thailand and Senior Expert Level 11 (Highest Level, equivalent to Professor of Medicine Level 11), Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand. He serves as Instructor of the Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital, Navamindradhiraj University, Bangkok, Thailand and Faculty Member of the Faculty of Medicine, Western University. Currently, he also serves the International Regional Adviser (Advisory Board) for Thailand of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, United Kingdom and the Reviewer for the journals of the Royal College of Physicians of London, United Kingdom. He was appointed the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)’s Advisor in 2021-2022.He was directly invited & proposed to the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) Membership by the United Nations Former Secretary-General “ H.E. Nationally, recently, he was appointed the chairman of the executive research ethical board committee for the health inspection region 4, Thailand Ministry of Public Health since September 5, 2022 and nationally, recently, he was appointed a board committee director for urban disease control academic planning since August 26, 2022.Since March 31, 2023, he has been appointed an executive committee member of the Anti-Tuberculosis Association of Thailand under The Royal Patronage of H.M. The King (Bangkok). Recently, he was appointed the Secretary-General of the Urban Disease Control Foundation, Thailand.
